I’ve been waiting patiently for this comprehensive electrical family, but I pounced on my mouse the moment it became available. It looks to include most everything I’ve needed for my residential projects. The selection of light fixture types and options is huge, and the biggest thing for me might be the improvements to the electrical devices, switches, receptacles, symbols and workflow to help create a decent Electrical Power & Lighting Plan. Bravo! I will add a wish for a craftsman type wall-mounted porch light. Maybe an add-on package with additional fixtures in different styles in the future? (Craftsman, mid-century, Victorian… etc?). This is an impressive collection and will help me out tremendously.

I am an architect using Revit since the old $99.00 a month and calling the “factory” direct for technical support. A long time, prior to Autodesk buying the package. I say that to tell you I have seen a lot of ” families” offered and Brenton is offering good packages. I have purchased the cabinet package and fence and rails. Both are good, time saving offerings. Having used Revit so long I have finally almost learned when NOT to model an item needed for the project, but not completely. This new electrical package caught my eye as one of the things I need to help speed up the layout process, even if I use an electrical engineer for the actual plans.
This package is a very good start, however, for my practice, it needs tweaking for a “base” start. For residential work, it is probably good enough, but I do mainly commerical. It does work with my plans but essential items are missing, i.e. exit lights, layin acoustical tile fixtures, exterior wall washes and LED noted fixtures (all types). This is not to say the package should be avoided at all. I am using the product and completely satisfied with this start.
As I said, this is my third “package”, and all have made their cost back in my time savings in production drawings and preliminary renderings. I’m giving this electrical a 5 star rating, but it needs tweaking a bit — a few commercial fixtures would have made it almost the ideal starting package for electrical.

Another amazing Revit Family from Revit Family Biz! I have purchased and used the cabinets, interior/exterior doors, windows, and railing families for the past few months and have been impressed with how user friendly each family is to use and the details on each family and how great everything renders. I mainly construct residential projects and for the electrical starter pack I mainly use the light fixture families and, as with all the other Revit Family products, the light fixtures are very easy to use and install on my projects. The details of the light fixtures are very good. I do look forward to the addition of additional add on packages for some additional options on the light fixtures. But this electrical starter pack was a great addition to my collection of families that I use for all my Revit projects.

Top notch, as expected! As a former BIM manager, it’s always refreshing to see families being built pretty much exactly as I would – saving me tons of time and only requiring very minor tweaks for my practice. As with all of the other packages, these families are easy to use, tweak, and implement very quickly into your workflow. Plus, they don’t come packed full with 23,482,310,890 different parameters and options like so many manufacturer’s content.
You absolutely can’t go wrong with any of Brenton’s families, keep up the great work!
